Half Swing Drill
Checking Your Grip
Directions:
When we start with our grip, take your top hand (as per the video), put the grip in the base of our fingers, wrap our hand around. When you look down you should see first two knuckles, your thumb just rests to the side of the grip. Have a look and notice the lower palm of your hand fits on the grip. That is the proper position for the top hand. The bottom hand can go on two ways. Overlap Grip where the baby finger overlaps the index finger or Interlock Grip where the baby finger interlocks with the index finger. Both cases the top thumb fits the palm of your bottom hand. Thumb should rest to the side of the grip. Also, the slot of the bottom hand should point to your trail shoulder which means the bottom hand is in the proper position.
Reminder: please remember to check your grip each time before you hit a ball.

Half Swing Drill
Purpose of this Drill: To eliminate using the hands and wrists to start the golf club back away from the ball.
Drill Details: Get into you set-up position with a 7 Iron. Focus on using your shoulders to start the club back to ensure the proper path and pace. Start by using your shoulders only (no wrists or hands) to take the clubhead, halfway back in one piece. Check that the shaft is on your toe line or slightly inside, and that the toe of the clubhead is slightly towards the ground. After impact, the club head should be in a similar position, as in your back swing (toe of the clubhead is slightly towards the ground).
Important Note: Please remember to check your grip and your set-up position. Keep your eyes back of the ball through impact.
